What's Goin' On?

I wonder if any of my genius relatives and/or friends can help me figure out why I can't find my pictures after I download them to my iPhoto 2009 program? I got a new iMac computer recently and I also got an updated iWork set. I like the new features on the 2009 iPhoto, and I can mess around with the pictures that were in there before I changed computers, but anything I've downloaded since then is simply invisible. I've opened absolutely everything I can, I keep watching the tutorial, thinking it will help, I've typed the question into Google, and nothing touches this problem. No one else seems to be having any trouble with disappearing photos!

The last pictures I downloaded after Kevin and Colleen's wedding last weekend showed up, but as soon as I clicked on the screen (or was it when I unhooked the camera?) they went away, never to be seen again! I'm so frustrated, but I know it will all work out! These things do. I'm just totally stumped.

Can anyone out there help me?

Hello? Hello?

Thank you very much.

I sure don't know! I'll ask Ed to see if he can figure it out... I would be nice if you had Skype on when you are at the computer, just in case we could chat!

check to see if your camera's date settings were changed. a similar thing happened to me and my photos were found in "2007".

I'll ask Nathan too :)

I've seen this happen a few times, and it's usually a sign that the date on your camera has been reset to some historical time like 2006. If you check your camera's date, it will probably give you a clue where to look by date. In fact, this just happened to Carol a couple weeks ago, when she started using a different camera.

I'm glad you have faith that the photos are still there somewhere, because they are.

We have this problem, and I've figured out how to work around it! If you need to upload or attach a photo, go to your "owner" file-- for us it's "mullins". Then go to library, then pictures, choose iPhoto, then you get some choices of modified or unomodified. Then it's all categorized by date and roll. Once I upload pictures, I edit them. I can get to them through "last roll," but only until I upload some more. This is the only consistent way I've found to get the pictures I need. I hope this helps!

Thank you so much, I knew I could count on the Shackelfords to help me out! Ariana, I was wondering about that idea... of going to the last roll, etc. I'm going to try your work around. Also, Nathan and Carol, I checked the date and it WAS off... it's saying it's like February, 2010. When I went back there though, in the dated files, I couldn't find my stuff yet. But I think we're onto something and am going to keep looking by dates.

And daddy, Kevin and Colleen are Kevin Cox, Tom and Mary's youngest, and his longtime girlfriend and new bride, Colleen Cox, nee Hamilton. They were married on Sept. 4th and I wanted to put up a few pictures of their wedding, but I can't!

Thank you all so much! Any more ideas certainly won't hurt...

Maybe Phil and I can drop by sometime soon. He's done with his Louis L'Amour books and many I can look at the computer

Thank you to Abby and Phil for coming over tonight. Abby showed me that I hadn't finished downloading the pictures... once you can see them on the screen you have to select the ones you want to download and then click "download selected." (This is different from the earlier version.) She also straightened out the date on my camera. Sigh... I'm so happy. :-)
