Last Sunday was Palm Sunday and we had fun visiting Gretchen and Chris and Anders at their church, Malibu Presbyterian Church. GG was in their seasonal choir and it was a great sermon and friendly people. It's interesting to see the facility... the church burned down a few years ago and they've been meeting in a local school, but in November they moved back to their land in a very sturdy tent sanctuary. It has a concrete floor and comfortable chairs. (They plan to rebuild as soon as the red tape is complete.) There are also several portable buildings where the preschool meets, so we got to tour Anders' classrooms and see his artwork displayed on the walls. There's also a picture of David in the play area with Anders with the ocean in the background. Nice! After church we went up to Malibu Seafood, stood in line and eventually got a great meal that we ate in the outdoor patio area.
Today is Easter and I've had the experience of missing another earthquake! I really appreciate the Lord allowing that to happen. We were pulling out of the driveway to go over to Mom and Dad's for Easter and I saw our neighbor standing in the front doorway of their house and I waved, but didn't know that he was feeling an earthquake! We heard about it when we got to Mom and Dad's, where we had a great time celebrating Easter. Mina brought badminton equipment and several family members had a ball "flipping a birdie" around or watching. Gretchen and Chris came for the weekend and GG worked on Saturday, they went to church with us this morning and before the earthquake we had an Easter egg hunt for one lucky boy in our yard. I hope you had a nice weekend! We did.
