It's been busy since Thanksgiving, but we're just about ready for Christmas. We're looking forward to the Barnes's arrival on Wednesday... David is picking up a second Pack n' Play tomorrow so everyone will have his own bed. My last day of work was on Friday so now I'm focusing in on Christmas... I didn't do anything with cards or letters this year, so maybe I'll put something together for New Years. I'll just post photos of what we've been up to for the last few weeks.
I've posted several pictures of nephew Luke Shackelford's graduation from Biola's BOLD program. We're so proud of him! Sister Gretchen and I (along with mom and dad) planned an open house for him yesterday, then he took off driving north for Christmas with some of his siblings. He wore the family graduation robe, worn first by Lola Taber when she graduated from Whittier College in, I think, 1904. It's been worn by all family members since who have graduated from college.
After Thanksgiving we enjoyed having the Tang family over for brunch and the day... the middle son is in our Sunday School class and the dad is back in Hong Kong while mom studies at Talbot.
We taught Sunday School in November and will teach again in January, and you can see the kids and teacher digging into icing and crackers after the lesson.
One Saturday took us down to Naples Bay in Long Beach, where we enjoyed walking up and down a few of the canals on a beautiful day.
David's mom turned 88 and we, along with brother Tom (and Mary) took her out to dinner at Mimi's and then went over to Tom and Mary's house for spice cake afterwards. It was fun to celebrate and honor Mom!
I wish you and yours a wonderful Christmas, filled with restful moments, good food, family, friends and a sense of "God with us."

Robin, you have SUCH good photos! So full of people and relationships. David picking up a second Pack n' Play -- I feel cozy just reading about it - like a slumber party.
Thank you, Robin and Gretchen, so much for having the party and taking such good pictures! Does a Momma's heart good!
I'm so glad you got pictures from the balcony of graduation. You girls did a grand job on Luke's party. We're all so proud of Luke!Love you
A side note is that the picture on the big screen is of Luke receiving his diploma from Pres. Corey. It's hard to see but I was lucky to snap it because by then people were leaving and just at the right time there was a break in people streaming in front of me! I imagine that Luke is about to arrive in Seattle by now... hope he's enjoyed his big road trip!
Wonderful pictures, Mom. Congratulations to Luke on graduating!!
