Yosemite Pictures #1

We got back from Yosemite on Sunday evening. We've really noticed a decrease in traffic since the gas prices have gone up, so the drive was nice! The numbers of people seemed to be down too. I think the thing I enjoyed the most was riding bikes... it's the best way to see Yosemite Valley, in my opinion. There are paved trails everywhere, and they take you to so much beauty! There was a lot of haze in the valley because of the fires in northern California, so sometimes it was hard to see Half Dome! Housekeeping cabins are a nice way to camp, yet not have to set up a tent or trailer. I had fun cooking and photographing some meals for an article on SCD camping, and we were joined by family in neighboring cabins for part of the time too! Philip and Abby came for one night, on a road trip that included Mammoth, Yosemite and Pebble Beach. Then two of David's brothers joined us... Tom, (Mary was with Amy in Illinois) and Jim and Sandy, out from Kansas. We had such a nice time together! We rarely have that much time to just sit and talk and play games.
