Denver Weekend

Last weekend I went to Denver to babysit! Actually, it was delightful to head back for a few quick days, and how nice for Erin and Jim to get two nights out! They went to the company party and a quiet "coffee-for-two" after the kids were in bed! I also got to go to Wade's 6 month pediatrician appointment with Erin and the boys on Friday, plus we went grocery shopping, I got to put some good stuff in the freezer and I went to church with them! Lovely!

I arrived on Thursday afternoon and that evening we went to Smash Burger for dinner.

Garrett took this picture across the table for me.

Jim and Wade...

Wade got a bath before bed. Gotta get ready to go to the doctor in the morning!

Garrett and Wyatt showed me their pumpkins all lit up.

I read a stack of books to them and here I am getting an "immune system treatment" from Garrett. He thought of this system where he leaned the pillows against me then kept crashing against them/me, thereby strengthening my immune system, which is very important. :-)

Up close...

Up really close...

Getting Wyatt in on the act...

Sweet Wade loves to lie there and grab all those fun toys!
He's even happier if someone is nearby while he's doing it.

On Saturday Jim blew all the leaves into a pile, then Wyatt and Garrett had fun playing in them before he dispatched them! I loved watching all the excitement!

It's nice to eat dinner in the dining room! It gets pretty crazy with Garrett full of things to talk about and Wyatt doing experiments with his food (or here he's setting the timer then covering his ears when he thinks it's going to ring), but it all works and is a nice time together!

Here's ole' Wadie-pie after he got fed. He looks like the other boys
but with blue eyes and lighter coloring. Very cute.

Sunday mornings at church include going to the gym, where they have donuts. Yummy!

Erin in the gym...

Jim in the gym... hey, that's the same word!

Anyway, I thank the Lord for his planning because it turned out to be just the perfect time to go!
There had been a bad thing that happened in the community and it was nice to just
be together, talk, relax, have some fun and do something else besides think about it.
I realize that the silver lining to having our family all spread out is that we
get to go stay with each other! That's special and I'm grateful I was able to do it.

What a blessing to have airplanes and quick access to airports! Looks like a very nice visit.
