Erin asked us to take a look at the old neighborhood and see how things look now. How's the house? Is there any activity with the gas drilling in the area? How's the construction on 1171 (Cross Timbers Rd.) coming... is it still a mess? So on Thursday of our week in the Dallas area, David and I went over and had lunch at the place I really like, Bridlewood Golf Course Clubhouse, and took a tour through the area. Here's what we found...
First things first, we had lunch at Bridlewood.
Here's how 1171 looks... they have all the traffic on one side, although the other side looks done. This is coming out of the Bridlewood neighborhood, getting ready to turn right on 1171.
Here's the intersection at Shilo, we were getting ready to turn left onto it.
Going up Shilo we saw this big truck, seemingly evidence of work happening somewhere.
Here's our first view of Erin's backyard with the little outbuilding sitting there very nicely. Below you see more of the place. The new owner has the horse fence down, so I assume she doesn't have horses there.
She's added little lights up the driveway...
We headed on down Miracle Lane to turn around and to see how things were looking...
Bye bye, nice house! Now, to find a neighbor we could ask about the drilling! We tried Dee's house, but there was no answer. I watched a wasp building a nest on her front porch.
But across from Dee's house we saw the neighbors out working on painting the house so David hopped out to talk to them. The wife came out just as he was walking up, so he got the whole low-down from her! Things are moving along and "Erin & Jim's" well, Well #3, is nearing completion. She told us to drive around the back of the neighborhood to that windy street (what was the name?) and from there you could see the work. So we did that, and here you are...
Well #3
Continuing on along the road, winding around, we saw this closed dirt road that goes into the back of the well area. I guess she said that the workers enter it from somewhere over on Shilo, where another well is being drilled, and don't go through this neighborhood.
Continuing on, we saw this activity of some kind, but not sure if it's related.
Well, there you are! You can see that things are greening up and spring was really starting! The weather was lovely and it was fun to be back in the old neighborhood to see how things are looking.
