Our Backyard

Our backyard is going to look different! I just wanted to quickly post some pictures so you can see the transformation happening. Philip drew up the plans for us a while back, then selling the trailer gave us a little stash of money, so here it is, so far. It's feeling so snazzy that we think it just couldn't be OUR house... but it is, and we're going to enjoy it.

A new, hardier avocado tree is going in, and there will be a fruit tree in every quadrant. There is an ultra dwarf Asian Pear, an ultra dwarf Fuji Apple and a dwarf navel orange. Between us and the Owens house, we're both going to plant a hedge between the properties, at the top of the new retaining wall. In that rounded spot next to the bricks is going to be a "focal point," which will probably be a statue of some sort. I'd like to go looking for it right away, but it may take a little while. It'll all be on a timed watering system! More pictures later, including pix of our time in Denver with the Barnes's.

You can see some of the plants that are going to go in around the edges of each quadrant... they're all lined up near the kitchen door. Everything should be finished by the middle of next week. David and I are repairing a section of fence there behind the big potted avocado tree. Fun, huh?

Dave was telling us about the redo on Saturday. It is nice to have some pics. Looks like it will be a nice addition to your cottage.

I love it! I was amazed to see that wall behind the house looking so different! You are going to really enjoy!

Well, I can think of some statues that would not really be suitable... I look forward to seeing what you find!

I hardly recognize the place with the Owen's front yard showing like that. It looks so different! I can't wait to see it more finalized. It'll be beautiful!
