A Windy Day & A View Of My Garden

I was talking to the grandkids today. They went to the botanical gardens and enjoyed it, although it was pretty hot for Madeline, but Abby was interested in what was happening in my garden right now, so I thought I'd post a picture. This is really my favorite time of year for the garden! The nasturtiums are thriving and hanging down the wall and the irises are showing off their loveliness during their short blooming period. The oak tree is starting to drop it's leaves as the new growth pushes them out. The fig tree is getting little figs and new leaves and we'll watch it grow bigger until the figs are ripe in July. Then we'll stand outside and eat them for dessert!

Since we cancelled our cable TV (we can't get reception without it because of the hills) we've been sitting outside more and enjoying the sunsets. Last weekend we (well, actually David) wanted to watch the UCLA game so we went to Grandma's place in Redondo to watch it. It was great to get to see her, and we also enjoyed the WINDY weather. Observe the picture of David leaning into the wind! And you can see the choppy ocean in the background. Tomorrow is Easter and we're going over to mom and dad's in the late afternoon. We'll have 5 Easter egg hunters, and one of them will be a child! It's just too fun to run around gathering treats in Grandma's garden! I think we all love the hiding-and-hunting! Easter Blessings to you and yours!

Robin, your garden is gorgeous! And I think it's soooo sweet that Abby wants to know what's happening in it!!

I wish I had a fig tree to eat from too!
