Let's See...A Birthday, Pickled Eggs and Wee Anders

Well, it's been a busy couple of weeks! The most lovely thing is sister Lu arriving for mom's birthday party. She made an excellent gift and Daddy was about to pop with the secret, but didn't! Mom had NO idea, so it was really fun to surprise her. Our birthday dinner party was so nice and then Gretchen and I made a brunch spread for Mom and Dad's Friendship class on Sunday morning. Lu came bearing a box of mango-tamarind treats from a friend of hers who sent it for the birthday party and we had some of them out for the brunch.

Have you ever tried pickled eggs? It's something I'm trying for Erin's website and we have a couple recipes up for people to try. We continue to have fun working on the site, trying to finish the various pages and fine tune it.

Tomorrow I'll be picking up Anders at Mom and Dad's house where he's been for 2 days. We get to babysit him for the weekend while his folks are out having an anniversary getaway. So far he's been doing well at Grammy and Poppa's house and when Gretchen called and said Hi to him, he kissed the phone! Hope he's still so happy a little bit longer!

My garden is starting to be filled with nasturtiums and irises! I love it. This year David is putting in a vegetable garden in the back yard since we'll be home for most of the summer this year. It's so nice to be out in the yard again!

I love that picture of Grandma looking so happy! We are definitely going to try the pickled eggs, since we're always looking for new whole food snacks around here. Thanks!
